Patterns

In this activity, students use code to join Else and Anna (from the movie Frozen) to explore the magic and the beauty of ice. Students create snowflakes and patterns as they ice-skate and make a winter wonderland they can share with their friends. The primary learning goal is to use basic codes to create simple to complex patterns and get familiar with basic CS concepts. Students in grades K-5 may struggle with the mathematics in the tutorial (it requires a basic understanding of angle measurement). If students are on the younger side, the teacher should consider delivering the supplementary lesson plan. For younger students, it is suggested you break your class into pairs or very small groups (three to four students each) and ask each group to work together to complete the tutorial using pair programming.
